No, presently the mask by Re-uz is not approved.
Initially, the idea was to offer an alternative to single-use masks which are difficult to recycle and are to be found littered around all public places, becoming an ecological nightmare along with one-use plastic bags and single-use cups.
In July 2020, the idea was born to develop a mask that could be hygienically washed and therefore reused hundreds of times to limit the environmental impact. The first drawings and prototypes were made. Then came the choice of materials: polypropylene, a resistant monoplastic also used for reusable cups (Ecocup®) which can be washed hundreds of times.
The concave shape that covers the nose and mouth and goes down under the chin was designed with the objective to direct the expelled air (which could possibly be carrying a virus), towards the chin.
Presently there is no certification protocol for this type of mask.
